From building PCs out of spare parts to shipping apps to the store

I was drawn to computers from an early age. As a teenager I assembled PCs from whatever parts turned up, or whatever I had saved up for from a summer job. At secondary school I got my first taste of programming — VBA back then, but even so I loved the idea that I could make something out of nothing and automate a process.

I went through several jobs and eventually decided it would be good to do what I enjoy and have a knack for. I started learning to program alongside work. Because I enjoyed it and stayed curious, moving into programming professionally turned out to be surprisingly natural. In hindsight it is one of the best decisions of my life.

Today I mostly work on the Partners mobile banking app. Over the years I have contributed to other projects large and small, such as Unicorn’s ChargeUp app and the mobilizujeme.cz, elektrickevozy.cz and inteligentnisvet.cz websites.

In the evenings I build my own apps. I like having the whole product in my hands — from the first idea through design and code to the store listing and answering users. The newest one is Najeto, a vehicle log with its own website.
